Abu Talha Farooqi is Associate Professor and Vice-Dean Academics at the Jindal School of Design & Architecture, OP Jindal Global University, Sonipat, Haryana. With 14+ years of experience spanning teaching, consulting, and research, he has worked with diverse national and international institutions focused on educational empowerment and community building. As an educator, he has headed design studios, theory & research courses, as well as courses on sustainable and environmental design. A Govt of India certified Master Trainer for India's Energy Conservation & Sustainable Building Code (ECSBC), Abu has trained government officials, practicing architects, and professors in sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate-responsive design. He is a recipient of the prestigious Outstanding Faculty Award awarded by Solar Decathlon India for mentoring students to create net zero buildings.
His research and practice explore non-human and material agencies in architecture, prioritizing dwelling and inhabitation over visual imagery and his approach to architecture extends beyond building design — as systems that are socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable. As an academic and consultant, Abu is dedicated to creating context-sensitive, people-centered, and carbon neutral environments that combine innovation with cultural and ecological responsibility.
